Commitment
Osage Group is committed to making the Properties accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of ability or assistive technology. We target conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA.
Standing measures
- Semantic markup. Pages are built with HTML semantic elements (
<header>,<main>,<article>,<nav>,<footer>) so assistive technologies can navigate document structure. - Heading hierarchy. One
<h1>per page;<h2>/<h3>nested correctly without skipping levels. - Alt text. All meaningful images carry
altattributes. Decorative images usearia-hidden="true". - Keyboard navigation. Every interactive element is reachable and operable by keyboard alone. Focus indicators are visible.
- Colour contrast. Body text against the cream paper background passes WCAG AA contrast (4.5:1). Gold-on-dark beats 4.5:1 as well; the deeper gold (
#9b7018) is used where AA is required against cream. - Reduced motion. The ticker, scroll-reveal animations, parallax hero, and logo intro all honour
prefers-reduced-motion: reduceand degrade to static. - Forms. All form fields have labels; error messages are announced to assistive technologies via
aria-live. - Skip links. Skip-to-content links are present at the top of every page (built-in via the semantic
<main>landmark). - Captions and transcripts. Long-form video published by Osage Media ships with English captions and a transcript at launch; selected episodes carry additional language captions.
Known limitations
Some legacy archival materials reproduced on the Properties (period photographs, historical documents) may not have descriptive alt text at the level of detail we would prefer. We are working through the archive to improve this. Reports of specific accessibility problems are welcomed and prioritised.
Standards we follow
- WCAG 2.2 Level AA (W3C).
- Section 508 of the U.S. Rehabilitation Act (Revised, 2018).
- EN 301 549 (EU accessibility standard) where applicable.
- Material design accessibility guidelines for interactive components.

- Format. Please include the URL, a description of the problem, your assistive technology and browser if relevant, and your preferred reply address (email or phone).
